This is a blog of God's grace, love, blessing,
and provision for our little homegrown family. - An eclectic and
sometimes random & tangential variety of entries, articles,
pictures and tips - chronicling our journey through life, parenthood,
crunchiness and ministry.... and sharing what we've learned along the
way.
Origin: My husband lost his job back in March of 2008, and ended up being out of work for total of 18 months. During this time, I found myself having very difficult time staying content, and continually struggled to keep my joy. In order to refocus, and get my mind back on the important things in life, I decided to start this blog. My goal was to not post anything negative... but instead, focus all my attention (& posts) on how the Lord was blessing our little family's life - even despite the most trying circumstances.
The Name: Keeping the blessings focus in mind - I really wanted to entitle the blog something simple yet powerful/meaningful. I originally came up with the title, "Simply Blessed"... but sadly discovered the url had already been spoken for. :-( Changing gears, I started to think of the many aspects of our lives & interests... which is what this blog is all about. B and I both come from close-knit families. We were both home schooled (grown educationally at home - which we also plan on perusing for our child[ren]).....we are huge advocates for home birth (made at home, born at home).... and live to serve the Lord faithfully - trusting that the results of our parenting & lives be a strong reflection of our desire to grow daily in the love & grace of the Lord. --- Homegrown-Love -- it just seemed to fit. :-) Then I used the tag line "Simply Blessed" to further describe the purpose of the site. - Which is: God is good... ALL the time!
