Encouragement

Isn't it funny how you can read familiar Bible passages maybe a hundred times (or more!) and the message - while powerful - is pretty much always the same.. But THEN, one day - a time you need encouragement most - God suddenly brings those words into a light, and you suddenly see them like you've never had  before...?

I have really been struggling with some resentment and anger towards the injustice of my hubby's recent layoff.  Not in any way toward hubby himself... but towards the doings of the not-so-nice-a person who fired him. Then, couple it with frustration over the fact that "not-so-nice-person" is totally getting away with it, and will probably (sadly) tear down everything we have seen wonderful, good people work so hard to make. I  am really saddened over the whole thing.

But today, as I was reading through some verses on being patient & aiting on the Lord.... these [following] verses really seemed to jump out at me! ~ Just in a time I needed it most...   Praise the Lord! !
Psalm 37:7-9
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth"
 What I got from that...

Be still... surrender yourself to the Lord, and lean completely on Him - trusting that he is faithful to complete the work He's started in you. Don't not get angry at the people who have improperly victimized you [or those you love], treated you/them unjustly, and yet, not only seem to get away with it all, but also excel in their business.  Remember, God is ultimately in control... and has everything worked out to fit in his perfect plan! So, do not worry about those people any more.  For fear, worry, and anger only leads you down the path of harm, trouble, destruction, and sin.  Trust in the Lord, knowing, in the end, the wicked WILL be judged... but for those [the meek & humble] that hope, rest, trust & fully rely on the Lord ,  THEY are the ones that will  be bountifully blessed [and live in/enjoy great peace and prosperity (vs. 11)].
