Reflections and Goals for 2011

We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day.  ~ Edith Lovejoy Pierce

Accomplishments/ Goals kept:
  • Meal planning consistently (for 2+ weeks at a time)
  • Make almost everything from scratch - very little to no processed foods!
  • Become more conscious about reading labels and choosing carefully what we consume both in and on our bodies.
  • Continued to replace various leftover plastic items, with wood, stainless or glass....
  • Switched our entire family to non-toxic/natural products....  (B still uses a few things, but he's coming around! yay! :)
  • Continued incorporating Essential oils into our household
  • Weekly date night.  <3
  • Had next to no soda (or drinks w/artificial crap).
  • Continually seeking &  learning - aware of what is going into our mouths/bodies
  • Connected w/ a few of the young marrieds/moms @ church!!
  •  Bought Kamut, and started grinding for baking - including baking all our bread!!
  • Began making our Yogurt & [soaked] Granola too
  • Did a much better job keeping up with laundry, as well as the house picked up/uncluttered/simple.
  •  Paid off our credit card!!! (all the debt we had accumulated from B's first bout of unemployment!!)
  • Successfully night-weaned (ok, so while this wasn't exactly a goal for the year... it was definitely something I expected to have happen.  Of course, wanting it to be mostly led by KB... I didn't know when exactly it was going to happen...  Just something in my heart knew it would...  and it did. Gently, uneventfully, and pretty much as naturally as it should).

Goals for 2011....

  • Remember to take my SuperMom vitamins & other supplements, every day
  • Make more friends - Make conscious effort to connect with others around me
  • Try to be more understanding, rather than critical  (even those who choose to  follow blindly/obliviously, rather than making conscious decisions using education/intellect/instinct... hmph! - ok I'll keep working on it.... )
  • Listen - don't be so quick to speak/interrupt... (esp with B)
  • Trust more freely.... esp myself.
