Thanks to the internet (like the oh.so.addicting, Pinterest)... and even the audacity of some of our local shopping mall patrons.... I have seen this saying -- and all it's many variants ("All I Wanted was a Backrub..." "All I/Mommy Wanted was a Foot Rub..." "All daddy wanted was a..." ::ahem:: yeah, nevermind...) -- one too many times! When shared via the internet, it's often followed with a "LOL" "Too funny" or some other sort of reference, depicting it's supposed comical nature. But I am here to tell you... it's NOT funny! It's not cute! It's not even whitty! It's hurtful.... it's RUDE... it's sick.... and it's just.plain.wrong!! I even saw a baby's onesie once, that had the horrible tag line added on "...and she got me". Do you realize how many women (myself included) would do/give anything & everything (well almost anything) to be in your position right now... and for one reason or another can't!? We struggle month after month, year after year...each time hoping, praying, and dreaming that maybe, finally, it's our turn... only to repeatedly have those dreams come crashing down around us. Each month facing yet another return of AF... or worse, a late cycle followed by a that leering negative test... making one wonder they'll ever get their chance. And then there's the sinking, helpless (and though often illogical) yet very real feeling, that maybe you are just damaged merchandise, incapable of doing what you know God created your body to do. It's discouraging... it's heartbreaking... it's devastating. And the thing is... while you sit back, laugh, jest, mock, and trivialize... I feel sad & sorry for you. Because while a "silly saying/shirt" may not seem like such a big deal to you.... it just goes to show how much you take for granted, just how very blessed you are!!
Think about it....
