One month....

One month ago today, we got the call... At 4:48 this afternoon, Aunt Nat left a message on my voice mail that would shake my world completely.  It was the earth shattering reminder of how short life really is.

Just a few questions...

This song just came on my Pandora... ::tear::

Miss you terribly Keetz!  It is NOT fair that you were taken so soon...  but I know God has a purpose in it all.  (I only wish he would show us what that purpose is)...

An' why did my cousin,  have to die...?
A good kid, only seventeen,
I still wonder 'bout that.
It seems unfair to me,
Some get the chance to chase their dreams,
An' some don't.
But what do I know?

I wasn't there the day, you filled up the oceans.
I didn't get to see you hang the stars in the sky.
So I don't mean to second guess you,
Or criticize what I don't understand.
These are just a few questions I have"

Shock, horror & disbelief!

Please pray for our family. We received word yesterday afternoon, that our (B's) 17 year old cousin, died in a swimming incident. Details as to what really happened are still being investigated. The whole family is in a total state of shock and disbielf.. and her mother is really having a hard time coping. We know Keetz believed in Christ, and was saved - so she is in a better place... But it still doesnt make the pain of a young, vibrant life taken way too soon, any easier.

RIP Keetz.... we love you!!

A chapter has closed....

A chapter has closed... it has now been 3 weeks since KB last nursed. The requests are lessening, almost nonexistent anymore... and though I know everything happens for reason, it still makes me sad it had to be this way. I am just so.grateful she's 3yrs and not younger (more dependant) and for the amazing grace, maturity & understanding she has demonstrated, despite it all. I love u baby girl! ♥

Perspective

Isn't interesting how you can be having one the worst days...  you know: the bread doesn't rise,and/or sticks to the pan... the muffins burn... the kid(s) are unruly, whiny and disobedient... laundry (both clean & dirty) are piled... and the house is in shambles...  ??

Apologies...

Fellow readers,
I want to apologize to you all, for the article I posted late last week.  I reacted on  assumptions & my emotions, rather than logic & grace.... let my big mouth get the better of me... and in the end, jumped to some very harsh,  hurtful & extremely wrong conclusions.  Conclusions which made one mama's attempts at  simply creating fun memories for her children... into a huge heart ache  for many.  From the bottom of my heart... I am so sorry to any & all involved, for my judgmental & insensitive spirit...  I hope that you can find it in your hearts to forgive me.  Thank you for your time & patronage to my site...

My cousin shared this quote on her Facebook the other day...  totally sounds like somthing Grandma might say, or at least love hearing...
“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together.. there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. but the most important thing is, even if we're apart.. I'll always be with you.”  ~ Winnie the Pooh

My Grandma...

"Like sands through the hourglass so are the Days of our Lives..."

This tag line is from the intro of the long-time running Soap opera, "Days of Our Lives".  I guess you could say it's also part of the "soundtrack of my childhood" as it is something I certainly heard often.  Days of our Lives was my Grandma's favorite show.  We called it her "Soapy," because from the day it first aired  in 1965.... until only a year or so ago, when she became really sick - no matter where she was [geographically] - I cannot remember a single day she did not  faithfully  tuned in and  watch.
