Quote: Childhood is like sand in a sieve...

You're a man of high position, esteemed by your peers. And when your little tykes are crying, you haven't time to dry their tears... And see their thankful little faces smiling up at you... 'Cause their dad, he always knows just what to do....  ... You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone... Though childhood slips like sand through a sieve... And all too soon they've up and grown, and then they've flown... And it's too late for you to give...

Perspective

Isn't interesting how you can be having one the worst days...  you know: the bread doesn't rise,and/or sticks to the pan... the muffins burn... the kid(s) are unruly, whiny and disobedient... laundry (both clean & dirty) are piled... and the house is in shambles...  ??

So Small....

What you got if you ain't got love?
The kind that you just wanna give away
It's okay to open up
Go ahead and let the light shine through

I know it's hard on a rainy day
You wanna shut the world out
And just be left alone
But don't run out on your faith

'Cause sometimes that mountain you've been climbing
Is just a grain of sand
And what you've been out there searching for forever
Is in your hands

And when you figure out
Love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else
Seem so small

It's so easy to get lost inside
A problem that seems so big at the time
It's like a river that's so wide
It swallows you whole

While you're sitting around thinking 'bout what you can't change
And worrying about all the wrong things
Time's flying by, moving so fast
You better make it count 'cause you can't get it back

Sometimes that mountain you've been climbing
Is just a grain of sand
And what you've been out there searching for forever
Is in your hands

Oh, and when you figure out
Love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else
Seem so small!

Sometimes that mountain you've been climbing
Is just a grain of sand
And what you've been out there searching for forever
Is in your hands

And then you figure out
Love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else
Oh, it sure makes everything else
Seem so small

~Carrie Underwood

Isn't it amazing how God seems to bring certain things across your path, just when you need them most....? One of our teens just shared a link to the music video with me (even more powerful than the lyrics alone!)... and after a really a rough week last week... the message of the song, genuinely hit close to home. ~ Thank you, Lord for the gentle reminder....

Don't forget...

...to VOTE.... and then PRAY!!
All we can do, is vote for life, truth, justice & freedom... trusting all the rest, to the one who reigns sovereign & supreme over all nations. And in the end.... no matter what happens, or who concludes this election day with their acceptance speech... know that there's an almighty & just God holds everything in his hands. There will never be a president with whom I agree completely. And whoever wins the office, is sure to make choices I don't agree with & decisions that are wrong. (if nothing else, he's human!) But despite what he does, or says, or believes, he will be my president - the leader of my country! And so, whether deserving or not, I will pray for & support him!
