Ahh, Mondays... I almost forgot what it was like to fly solo - esp on this glorious second day of the week! (can't you feel the sarcasm dripping from that comment?! LoL)

A, B, C....

We are huge fans of Emergen-C packets.... esp (a half packet) for KB, as an occasional substitution to juice, or alternative to water. Well, recently, she started asking for it by name...
"Mama.... A, B! A, B, Mama!! "Can you guess who has become aware of the alphabet lately?
~ Too cute for words!! ~

Never again!
As I have mentioned before... we never, and I repeat never let KB have sugar. We believe the over ingestion of sugar in our country is the cause of many of the illnesses, dental issues, behavioral issues, and bad habits, that many children as well as adults struggle with today. Because of that, we strictly limit the sweetness tantalizing KB's taste buds, to natural sources... like fruits, and the occasional items sweetened through honey, maple syrup, stevia, dates, etc.Monday, June 8, 2009

Goodnight Moon...
Our latest project is setting up a bedtime routine for KB. It's not necessarily a schedule... because though we try to start about the same time each night, it still varies a bit (pretty much within a 2hour period). Plus, we like the flexibility. Ideally we start sometime around 10pm (yeah, we're late night folks)... and then adjust the length of certain parts of the routine (ie length of bath playtime, length of story, etc), depending on the time we begin. We're still working on getting into a rhythm... but we've been at it for a whole week now, and it's going really great!

Naturally Sweet Treats
We're definitely not a sugary, candy-eating kind of family - KB usually never gets the stuff! But in hopes to encourage her in her recently lax endeavors of using the potty...
we have taken to offering one Jellybean, per success, as incentive. Up until now, we have been using some Starburst jellybeans, someone gave to us... but despite the mere one or two a day (on an extraordinarily good day)... I have been really been struggling with the fact of how bad corn syrup & artificial coloring are for our bodies, and yet still allowing my daughter to ingest it on a daily basis. - It seriously bothers me!
